Side and rear tempered glass runs $200 to $450 for most vehicles, cleanup of every shard included. With the part in hand it is a same-day job. Call 646-386-2253 and we will either see you on Fort Hamilton Parkway or drive out to your block in Midwood the same week.

Door glass and back glass are tempered on purpose. They are built to burst into dull granules instead of long blades, which is right for safety and miserable for cleanup. A single rear door window scatters into the door shell, the map pocket, the seat belt track, the child seat, and the seam where the carpet meets the sill. We take the trim panel off rather than vacuuming through the slot, because the pieces that stay in the door are the ones you hear rolling around on Ocean Avenue two months later. The regulator and the run channels get checked while the panel is off.
Back glass has its own rules. The defroster grid and often the radio antenna are printed onto the inside face, so the tabs get released carefully and reconnected, and the encapsulation or moldings around the edge go on new. Get that wrong and you have half a defroster next January. Most side and rear pieces for common cars are available the same day, and the price you hear on the phone is the price on the invoice. If the car is sitting open, ask us to board it while you decide; a taped panel keeps the rain off overnight.
“I called for a quote on two pieces of mirror. The lady I spoke to was very helpful. Took my measurements, offered to call me back with a price. She did promptly. Polite and professional throughout.”

Two Midwood habits produce most of this work. One is overnight parking on the quieter numbered streets, where a car with a bag on the back seat is an invitation and a rear door window is the quiet way in. The other is the shopping runs: Avenue J on a Thursday afternoon, Avenue M, Kings Highway, cars squeezed into spots with mirrors folded and doors opened hard by the driver next to you. Rear quarter panes and small vent glass go that way more often than people think. Either version leaves you with an open car you cannot leave outside. We can board it up the same day, get the part moving, and finish it either at the shop or in your driveway once it lands.
Same service, same price, other Brooklyn neighborhoods:
That is part of the price, not an add-on. Tempered glass ends up in places you would not guess: the seat belt reel, the runners under the front seats, the door cavity, the trunk seal. We pull what has to come off, vacuum it properly, and check again with the window down. You may still find one or two pieces weeks later. That is the nature of it.
Factory privacy glass on rear doors and back windows is tinted in the glass itself, and we order the piece to match, so the shade lines up with the panes either side. Aftermarket film applied over a clear window is different: that film is gone with the old glass, and you would need it reapplied afterwards. Tell us which one you have when you call.
Tell us the vehicle and the glass that's damaged — you'll see your price instantly, and we'll hold it for you.
